There are thousands of movies and books about people who set difficult goals and achieve them. You'd think after all that instruction, it would be easy for us to see specifically how to accomplish our own goals! Unfortunately the lessons you learn from books and movies about goal setting aren't necessarily accurate. For example,
"Do your best."
From at least the time we begin formal education, and generally earlier, we often hear this phrase as we strive for our goals. And that is perfectly reasonable. After all, if we've "given it our best shot" and "put in 100%," what more could one ask for? As it turns out, quite a bit.
